Notes Client 6.5 All Platforms

Hi Rupert,

We are just going through this process, we have installed Notes 6.5 multi-user installation and copyed the users names.nsf bookmarks.nsf desktop5.dsk to the c:\documents and settings\userid\local settings\application data\lotus\notes\data of the multi-user install.

When the User starts notes it then uses the notescfg setting in notes.ini to look at a configuration file called notes.cfg in the users network home drive, this saves the user having to now all the relavent settings to input in the setup process. Details on this are in the release notes.

When the user starts Notes after the setup has completed it will convert all these files to the new formats.

Notes will now run on this workstation.

We have then gone through and converted the user to Roaming once this is done.

We had one problem with the servers being at 6.02cf1 with Roaming and found these were fixed on upgrading the Servers to 6.5 also.

Now Roaming is working as expected for all users so far. We are still deploying the client side.

Hope this is helpful.
